Microneedling

Microneedling is a non-invasive but extremely effective rejuvenation treatment which harnesses your skin’s natural ability to repair itself. Using very tiny needles to puncture the surface of the skin, it stimulates a healing response, causing your skin to kickstart its collagen and elastin production.

GOAL: Improve fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne scars and skin texture.

TREATMENT: Local anaesthetic gel is applied before the treatment to numb the skin. The Dermapen® DPM8 device (a handheld device containing multiple needles) is pierced into the skin’s lower dermal layer to create controlled ‘micro-injuries’ in order to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. This also allows topical skin products to be absorbed more efficiently as well. It can be used on the face and neck and is suitable for all skin types.

TREATMENT AREAS:  Most commonly the face, but can be used on any area of the body that needs a collagen boost – eg. acne scars, stretch marks, surgical scars, burns, wrinkles.

DURATION: 40 minutes – 1 hour, depending on areas treated.

FREQUENCY: Results show in 7 days, and last up to 12 months. We recommend 1-3 sessions over an 18 month period.

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS: Short term redness, bruising and discomfort.

At Renegade Skin, we understand the importance of keeping up to date with the latest skin innovations and providing the best experience for our clients. That’s why we have invested in the Dermapen® DPM8 for our microneedling treatments.

Dermapen® DPM8 offers a microneedling experience like no other. The DPM8 is focused on patient comfort, proving that beauty doesn’t always have to equal pain. It also allows your practitioner to fully control the treatment intensity to best suit your needs and to target specific areas to offer optimal results.

Unlike the derma roller’s larger perforation which pierces the skin at an angle, the DPM8 leaves a vertical, pinhole wound. This protects against tearing, meaning there is less downtime for the patient.

The Dermapen’s® micro-channels can also carry up to 80% more topical nutrients into the skin which increases the effectiveness of your skincare routine post-treatment.
